Complaints of Dangerous Driving Result in Arrest on State Road 129

(Ripley County, IN) – Complaints from residents about reckless driving led to the arrest of a Madison man in Ripley County on Friday morning.

Indiana State Police Master Trooper Ben Bastin was patrolling State Road 129 between Cross Plains and Versailles after the agency received multiple complaints about someone repeatedly driving dangerously in the early morning hours.

Just before 6 a.m., Trooper Bastin spotted the vehicle going more than 40 miles an hour over the speed limit on 129 through Olean, according to ISP.

Trooper Bastin conducted a traffic stop on State Road 129 near Wood Road and arrested 34-year-old Justin Mahoney on a misdemeanor Reckless Driving charge.

ISP also reported that Mahoney was in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

He was booked into the Ripley County Jail.
