INDIANAPOLIS — David Humphrey and his son, W. Evan Humphrey, are the authors of the book “We Love You Beatles: Why the Fab Four Still Matter to Their Hoosier Fans.”

“This book is a tribute to the Beatles and their fans,” said David Humphrey.

The book shares the stories of Beatles fans from all over Indiana.

“We included stories from people who saw the Beatles perform at the State Fair,” David Humphrey explained. “I even interviewed a young man in his late twenties who is a huge Beatles fan and collects their memorabilia.”

One of these fans is David’s son, W. Evan Humphrey, who wrote about Ringo Starr and the song “Eleanor Rigby.”

“Some people think Ringo Starr was the weakest member of the Beatles, but I wrote a chapter to defend him as a great drummer,” said W. Evan Humphrey. “I also wrote a chapter about the song ‘Eleanor Rigby.’ I made an arrangement of this song in high school for a composition competition, and I wrote about the song in detail in the book.”
