Lincoln Man Dies in Motorcycle Crash at Highway 77 and Pioneers Boulevard

LINCOLN, Neb. – The Lincoln Police Department is looking into a tragic accident on Highway 77 that resulted in the death of a motorcyclist.

The incident happened just before 6:20 p.m. on Thursday at the intersection of Highway 77 and West Pioneers Boulevard. Both Lincoln Fire and Rescue and the police responded to the scene.

According to the police, the motorcyclist, a 48-year-old man from Lincoln, was traveling north on Highway 77. He collided with a southbound Nissan Altima that was trying to turn onto Pioneers Boulevard. Sadly, the motorcyclist died at the scene.

The driver of the Nissan, a man, was taken to a nearby hospital. Fortunately, his injuries were not serious.

Due to the accident, Highway 77 is closed in both directions between West Van Dorn and Old Cheney Road, as reported by 511 Nebraska.
