Police officials reported that a young couple, identified as 20-year-old Emily and 19-year-old Joshua, were arrested and charged with serious offenses including homicide and concealing the death of their baby. The incident unfolded when the parents allegedly threw their newborn out of a window after the baby bled to death.

Both parents were taken into custody without bond after officers responded to a 911 call about a deceased baby found on a street in March. The baby boy still had the placenta attached, and the medical examiner determined the cause of death as severe blood loss.

During the investigation, neighbors, including the baby’s father, were interviewed. The father initially claimed he knew nothing about the baby, but later admitted lying out of distress. He revealed that Emily had informed him of her pregnancy a month before the incident, but he wasn’t ready to become a father.

The father described how Emily cut the umbilical cord with a kitchen knife and then threw the baby out of the window. Emily confessed during interviews that she didn’t seek medical help because of financial reasons and had considered abortion earlier. She admitted to throwing the baby but believed the child was already dead. She then went to sleep shortly afterward.
