The U.S. Marshals Service recently announced that they rescued and found 200 missing or endangered children in just six weeks. This effort, known as “Operation We Will Find You 2,” targeted cities like Phoenix, Arizona, and Miami, Florida, where children were reported missing.
According to U.S. Marshals Service Director Ronald Davis, whenever a child goes missing, whether due to family abduction, running away, or other reasons, they face serious risks like trafficking or harm. The Marshals collaborated closely with the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) to locate and rescue these children.
Davis emphasized that while 123 children were removed from dangerous situations and 77 were found safe, this is only the beginning. He stressed the importance of ensuring all children grow up in a safe environment, calling it a fundamental obligation.
The operation has been conducted six times previously, and in 2024 alone, it has already located 546 children, a higher number compared to last year at this time but lower than the nearly 950 children rescued in 2021.
Michelle DeLaune, president of NCMEC, expressed immense gratitude for the Marshals Service’s efforts in finding these missing children. Specifically, the Phoenix area saw the highest number of children rescued during this six-week period.
